"on and off for many many years. think i first went to a rosemary connelly weight class (weigh in and excercise class) while i was still at school, i remember my dad's girlfriend took me with her. the only one that i actually lost on was low carb. i lost 3 stone on that." That is good and yes lowering the carbs helps too and is a good strategy

"Diets make my already unhappy comfort food habit worse Its all about portion size, I can eat what I want when I want but In a smaller quantity, that activates my endorphins and gives me the mental satisfaction I crave" Yes, you are right there, it is all about portion sizes too. I also have what I enjoy but a small porttion size of it

"Jesus just read your profile. Whatever you're eating is working. Serious condition considering you only train three times a week. What's the gym routine like? And to answer the question....I've never really dieted but eat mindfully. I know when I've eaten badly for a few days to reel it in." Ty and yes it is working too. I dont really do anything special. I just make sure that I most of the time est at maintenance calories and sometimes slightly below as I am maingaing and making steady progress over time, yes I train 3 times a week too with a full body workout and with lots of cardio, consistency is the key and to trust the process, that sounds like a good plan you are doing too

"Yesterday I just got a random thought in my head and I thought about my fitness journey and I couldnt at first believe it, but I have been dieting for about 20 years since I was 18 and I have followed many diets but the one that I have been most successful still using today is called flexible dieting as you can enjoy all kinds of food in the pyramid, bring all the food in the circle not out of it. I cant see me ever stop and here is to another 20 and more years of dieting, love it " I stopped dieting in my 20's and just changed my eating habits. I have never been over 91/2 stone since apart from during my 2 pregnancies.

"I've been on and off 'diets' most of my adult life. Like most fat people I can lose weight and then regain it all plus some I could write a book on how to lose weight, different diets and lifestyle changes, which foods that keep me satisfied, wholefoods, clean foods, no food blah blah blah But I always go back to my old ways. I haven't stopped trying - but I wonder when it's time to try an accept the weight I am and stop losing years and missing out on life because of it." This is how I feel I lose it I’m happy but then I relax and put it back on

"Following Slimming World since 2017 and it's the only diet that has worked well for me. I took a break from it over Winter (birthday/covid/isolation threw me off for a bit) but back on it now. " That is good you are back to it and same here. I also have diet breaks, usually just on occasions where I allow myself to enjoy big portions, like during christmas time, where I dont track any calories, but still dont eat too much of it
