..... that the scales say my actual mass has barely changed since before Christmas, yet the mirror says "fucking hell love, baby hippo territory"? The other weird thing is that no matter what my weight has been in the past year or so, my clothes still fit. Perhaps I'm made of quantum particles that simultaneously have mass and do not have mass

Sooooooo that's the sort of thing coursing through my addled brain on a Sunday afternoon. You?!

Muscle is heavier than fat, so if muscle density has decreased and fat increased, your actual weight might not move much.

It’s the same in reverse as you get fit and tone up.. you can get more toned and actually put weight on as you lose fat.

Maybe gravity has been turned down to save energy?

i am experiencing exactly this! and i didnt really have much in the way of muscle to begin with for it have been exchanged for fat

i look in the mirror and think then i step on the scale it tells me im pretty much static and today i put on a tshirt i swear was fitted and now its baggy

all i can think is my weight is redistributed- all of it to my tummy ass and thighs - like i wasnt bottom heavy enough already

Rationally, I know the fat vs muscle thing is relevant in my case, BUT it's the distribution of the fat, like GiL says. My tummy can never have been described as small or slim, but right now, I look like the actual Michelin man. Well, woman.

My shoulders/arms (my main muscle bulk) aren't as muscly but they're also not massively flabby either.

I'm going with the idea that gravity has been tinkered with. Weight = mass x gravity so it's obvious that I simply live in an area where there's tear in the space-time continuum. Obviously

Absolutely this, it's not only a theory it's body science, took me a while to figure why after a year of clean diet and nearly two stone weight loss in fat that when I started to train heavier and eat a protein rich diet I was putting on weight again but looking great.

I'm desperate to get back into the gym, onto the wheelchair basketball court and back into the swimming pool, definitely. Hopefully better weather means I can also resume my insane off-road wheelchair adventures
