I get asked this question a lot at shows and exhibitions. I go through the stock answers but as I always say it is the creativity behind the pictures, there is no easy answer, it is how the individualism and their creativity which makes the picture.

I have a picture of Old harry rocks off Studland simply taken with my phone off my kayak, don't take my cameras out to sea on a kayak .

People take pictures of old Harry Rocks, in 100,000s, even millions. But what made my simple photo sooo popular in 2019 that I have sold pictures and canvases of it all over the world.

So to answer your question OP, give you pointers and technique but the picture is what you make it, and only limited by your imagination and creativity,

Look at other profiles and when you see something you fancy doing yourself have a go.

I get an idea in my head. Try it. It doesn't turn out how I want it but somewhere in the process I get a pic that I do like and use it. The amount of times I've tried for one thing and then done something else after just messing about and used that instead!

Best advice is just get a camera out and take photos and have a bit of fun, be daring too. Whatever you don't like just delete and its gone, but don't let it put you off. Chances are you'll get 1 or 2 pics out of a load of shots you end up deleting.

This for me too. The accidental shot is quite often the best one.

I’ve said before, I just prop the phone up and dick about until I get some good shots.

Look at others for inspiration too.
