When I say big, I mean you’ve watched and read most canon content and not just watched the “main” films..

Return of the Jedi has not aged well. Do not think the extra cgi to New Hope and Empire was a good idea. Last couple of films were good although need to watch again as they all merge into one as far as memories go!

"I would have called muself a big fan, but I've only watched the films and the clone wars so perhaps I'm not."

You’re a fan if you feel like one. This kind of “you have to know XYZ and have watched/read these things” is bullshit. I’ve read a lot of the new canon, but not all by any means (there is a lot), I haven’t read the old extended universe, I’ve seen Rebels but not Clone Wars. But I have a book of Star Wars knitting patterns, which I bet OP doesn’t. And that’s why gatekeeping is bullshit, because you can make up any stupid criteria to try and make others feel small, when you could just enjoy a shared passion.

I'm a big fan of the OT. My childhood revolved around it. I thought most of the other films were quite lacklustre, and episode 9 was dire.

I don't like to be told I'm not a "big" fan just because I haven't read the books or have the same opinions as you about all of the films. I don't think it's up to you to define what makes somebody a "big" fan.

Its not a story you would hear from the Jedis, its more of a sith legend. Darth Plaigues was a dark lord of the sith, so powerful and yet so wise he could use the force to influence the midichlorians to create life.. he had such a knowledge of the dark side he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. He became so powerful the only thing he was afraid of, was losing his powers which eventualy of course he did. Unfortuently he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Its ironic he could save others from death but not himself.

Mando season 3 is a bit up in the air. Gina having gone, Pedro not happy with how she was fired despite being very Liberal himself, they had an understanding friendship. The entire controversy surrounding the show currently will likely place it on hiatus for a while.

I said it's ONE of the most toxic. And it is.

It's toxic because you can't have an opinion without someone attacking you. My opinion is that it's a toxic fandom, as are a lot of fandoms.

I think Episode 3 is the best film but a lot of "big fans" say it's rubbish because only the original trilogy are the 'real' films. I could go on but I can't be bothered.

OP began by saying you're not a big fan unless you've read most of the canon content, a lot of fans haven't read then therefore they can't be "big fans". But for some strange reason you didn't have a problem with that.

If this thread is so sacred to you then so be it. I'm out.

Op is entitled to his opinion which has rightly already been questioned as elitist. Which I agree with personally. My issue with your stance is the “toxic” comment.

Many subsequent comments from the original question moved on to more positive aspects. Hence your dump. After the fact.

Carry fisher in that gold bikini is the only decent scene in the whole lot, maybe that blue dancing chick.

In our loft I have the millennium falcon still with box, x.wing fighter, cpl of snow speeders, at-at ( this does have a poorly leg) loads of the figures and numerous other stuff from the original films.

Have you tried porn?

I remember going to see Star Wars at the cinema in the 1970s. It was a film ahead of it's time for sure. I can take it or leave it these days. If a film is well made I will give it a chance regardless of it's genre

What type of weird kid gets a toy for Christmas and doesnt open it?

Rogue one is up there with star wars and empire.

Part 3 of the prequels was by far the best.

The 3 new films were absolutely shocking.
