Favourite historical character

My other post about history as a subject seemed popular so who is your favourite historical character?

Mine is Hasan Sabah. As my name would suggest he was the guy who started the assassins creed. Originally known as the hashashin , his assassins where regarded as the best in the world at the time and had a huge hit list of characters even starting the fall of one of the biggest empires in the world.

Wirral.

I think it would be someone like the Empress Matilda, Eleanor of Aquitaine or Elizabeth I. Strong women who took no shit and (apart from Liz) gave birth to kings.
