Hello - I'm after some help and advice. I sent a message this morning, and I got banned for it. There were no website addresses in it..

Anyway, couple of hours the ban says when I try to message. However, intermittently throughout the day I've been able to get a message through, but then the ban kicks in again. I haven't sent a load of messages either. It's so frustrating that it keeps coming and going...

Has anyone experienced this? I've submitted feedback on the contact us page, but the ban appears to be back again. Any help appreciated to get it lifted?

There are some trigger words too that may have caused it - although think from memory it tells you which one and asks you to change it.

Is this all to the same person or various people? If the same person, I didn't think it did, but who knows, maybe something from the preceding string keeps getting picked up - try deleting and starting with a fresh message see if that helps?

If you're getting the same with various people then I'm not sure in all honesty

I thought that but i didn't use any words that I normally don't...

I was responding politely to a man who offered payment for services. Maybe one of the words I used there triggered it! But it was a polite response... I think

No its different people, but I get what you mean. It mentioned something about a website, but there really wasn't one in the message and then banned! Lovely

There are some words - there's no list, as noted - that will get you that ban automatically. Are there any words you're using repeatedly that might be ban worthy in the right context?

I dont think so, I tend to use the same words and actually don't swear much or use that many explicit words i don't think, and any where i have, haven't been banned! It's so strange! X

It's not just explicit words on the list some normally innocent ones (that may have an alternate meaning) can catch you out.

Sounds odd if it's triggered by messages to various people though

Has only ever happened to me once I think when I included a link to something on FB

But I wasn't spamming

It cleared for 30 minutes and now I'm banned again, it's like it doesn't know to lift properly, but I arent sending anything inappropriate, using any "dodgy" words or sending loads of messages..its never happened before but it's driving me mad

Hey, thank you, I've messaged using the FAQ and contact us section but nothing back yet.. its letting me message again but won't be long before I'm banned again, it's just so intermittent.

If I used a word or sentence that requires banning then I'll take the ban and learn from it but the on and off ban is driving me insane lol x

Oh that's why the ban then, I accept the ban for that- although to be very clear on my part... I was declining the offer in what I thought was a polite manner!

So I'll accept that, sure, it's the intermittent banning now that's frustrating. After declining I haven't messaged that person again so I don't understand the on and off ban.

The refusal might affect you, but really its not your fault next time just report the persons message.

As saves you in not getting a refusal the next time.

The intermittent happens sometimes as it will let you when you first log in but refuses after that.

Seems you figured it out

For future reference, no one will know on here what the words are as there is no list...but it will be a word/ phrase / link etc that is not allowed.

As the pop up says when it happens it should clear after a couple of hours...if you are still having trouble it could be another word/ phrase/ link etc that you are using
