I don't know the episode name but I think it was from series two. Alan is trying to creep his way into a lucrative friendship and is trying to call out to them across a carpark. The person is clearly ignoring him, but Alan persists in shouting their name more and more desperately.

I watched the very first episode and he’s talking to Sally Philips playing the young receptionist, she starts to laugh and I’m sure it’s genuinely real.
