It came across to me that he and his friend don’t discuss the black and white dimension of attraction. Just men and women.

Everyone ‘sees’ skin colour. It’s what first impression you see due to that that makes the difference and much of that is down to life experience as little children see it no differently to fat, thin, tall etc. It’s just something to notice with no preconception.

Correct , my social circle are all from different backgrounds. Have experienced racism and don’t judge people by their race. It’s the people that are familiar with the use of the word and match it to my race that I have an issue with
