It would be nice if it was, but it is an event that usually takes at least six months to organise, and I suspect requires non-trivial amounts of monetary outlay well in advance. Hotel bookings for those visiting Manchester are often made a full year in advance. My guess is that a full sized Sparkle might be too much of a stretch while the whole timeline towards allowing mass gathering social events is still very provisional. Likewise for organisation of any of the major Pride events.

It could be though that providing the virus recovery goes well, smaller ad-hoc events might happen on short notice time scales?

As Polly has said, you may have to be prepared for it not going ahead, these things take so much planning but you never know, there might be something, maybe even a later in the year event? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see but fingers crossed for you all, it’s an amazing event

We'll have our own mini Sparkle when The Village reopens Polly

Agree totally, I’ll miss my annual going back to my hotel in the early hours looking worse for wear

I may book a hotel room and see who’s going for the unofficial ‘Sparkle’ but not just yet, as I’m pessimistic over Covid and a future lockdown.

Southport / Ellesmere Port

Sparkle is definitely cancelled as an official event but, subject to restrictions being lifted and the bars being open then I know many people, including us, are still going to go for the weekend and have an unofficial sparkle

So far - they've said 'most restrictions will be lifted'.

So far - so good.

Without labelling it’s a great relaxed weekend in the village Manchester , that’s free

It’s generally LGBTQi and putting your best outfit on ,,,, a dress , a harness .a suit , no judgement

Trans celebration I’ve been two years on the run and had a great time. Not since I was in my twenties did I find myself staggering back to my hotel at 4,5 or even 6am after a night out
