My forearms, armpits and legs.

I was resembling a wilderbeast with my lockdown body hair.

I then applied aftersun to ease the burning

Anyone brave enough to do their lady garden with one?

I tried 3 times over 10 years, never got further than the bikini line

No I use tweezers to pluck stray hairs instead, helps being short trimmed on top, I'm scared I'd have a catastrophe if I epilated down there

Lip caught in a spinning device is something horror films are made of, and yes, I have thought of it

They are ok - but you have to keep up the regime over a few months to really see the benefit

less painful than an epilator though

I have in the past and found the trick was to do it after my legs so I'd kind of got used to the pain rather than going straight to that area 'cold'. Mind you I always had to finish off the very last bit with a razor as I was too frightened of catching my lips in the whirring blades. And learnt the hard way to always wear a bra when leaning over your lower body. What I did find - and it might just be my sensitive skin of course - was that epilating prompted a lot of painful ingrown hairs which isn't a good look and was one of the reasons I now leave my pubic hair alone mostly.

You have to do it like every week depending on how thick ur hair is. I do it twice a week (takes me about 45-60 mins to do all areas)

It is a bit time consuming but thanks to lockdown I guess I can spend more time fiddling with it!

Also it’s not totally suitable for white/ginger/light blonde hair as the machine can’t recognise the pigment of the hair so it won’t be as effective. The people that get best results are the light skin ones with really dark hair . But seems to be working on me even with my medium white/olive skin

I was at my wits end with shaving and razor bumps and wanted something more permanent that makes me feel totally smooth. The hair atm is regrowing tho I can see a difference in amount (some parts are already hairless) and the hair is way thinner than it used to be. I’ll keep u all updated on final results which should be in 5 weeks

I was thorn between the Philips and the bosidin and ended up going with the alternative as it looks very Dyson-esque and was developed with Stanford university. Also it has a great setting that cools the skin so the zap isn’t as bad.

And yes you need to get into the routine. It is time consuming and all but worth it. I’ve done 7 sessions in total in the past 3 weeks .. and got my 8th on Thursday

It was the price that swung it, £200 on ebay vs £545 from boots and it was immaculate being only a couple of months old.

That’s a great price to be fair! I heard great things about the Philips one as well

Yes don’t give up! Unlike the laser that u get from the salon which is more powerful, the IPL u do at home you just have to keep doing it for 8-9 weeks non stop and eventually the hair won’t regrow any longer (and just do an upkeep every 8 weeks). Or if it does it’s small patches so u can quickly keep zapping the small areas.

i always avoided laser because i am quite sallow skinned and ive heard the darker the skin the more painful and the less effective - because the laser works on darker pigment which is how it find the hair or something

you now have me thinking , its winter, its lockdown, i dont have a home sunbed ... im starting. resemble casper and pribably as light as i will ever be ... maybe now is the time

It works best with the fairest skin because the machine can detect better the pigment of the hair having said thst skin type 2-3-4 are all very effective (4 being like a milky coffee type)

5 not so good, and 6 (dark skin) as not effective and to be avoided.

I can’t see ur pics but I’d say u would get great results, maybe instead of once a week you can do like me twice a week spaced with 3 days .

As said, salons are closed and got still plenty of time to zap away

I always use an epilator on my legs. Once they start going numb the pain isn’t too bad!

Always used to get my other bits waxed but during this lockdown I’ve let things grow back albeit nicely trimmed and shaped. I’m actually quite liking the new look and might keep it after years of getting everything off. It’s far easier to maintain.
