Just wondering if women are only allowed to send a limited amount of words each day and they have to divide their word limit between any messages they wish to send because no matter how many words or messages I send it seems the replies are usually very sparse on content and if I get a full sentence I feel honoured. This is quite frustrating given the amount of profiles that say they want a decent conversation but I find it difficult to have one way conversation no matter how patient I am.

Minimalism is a new trend that is sweeping across Fab at the moment, sparse message’s are the go at this current time, last season it was quite different where you couldn’t get a word in, my suggestion is to enjoy it while it lasts as the spring/ summer campaign looks very much like lots of big words will be back in again.

Crying about it on the forums definitely increases the word limit that people can send to you

Isn't is a skill to be able to explain yourself in a few words?

Shangri-la

I'd say it probably depends on the message you have sent.

I've had multiple "how you doing?" type messages today, they don't really inspire me to reply, especially when I look at the profiles and it us clear that we have nothing whatsoever in common. At very most I might respond with "I'm fine thanks".

I think it's in the site rules somewhere. Just because you've sent someone a message, doesn't mean you deserve a reply, or that if you've spent hours carefully crafting a message, that you deserve an equally long, carefully crafted reply.

If someone just sends a quick short reply, then either they don't have time to write a longer detailed response, or they're not all that interested.

Do bear in mind that many people might not see much point in spending much time cultivating a long conversation, if what they are looking for is potential meet ups and they don't expect that to be happening for a few more months yet.

My post is slightly tongue in cheek just in case it's not been spotted, I do understand that to get a reply at all is nice no matter how many words are contained in the reply and I understand not to expect a reply if there is no interest, I never send a second message if I had no reply to the first but make an effort to keep an existing conversation going.

Sometimes I'll send a few words back. That's more than likely because although I may appreciate the message or the effort gone into it, I'm not really in the mood to talk.

I've had a few recently where I've thought, yeah, this person seems alright but I know I'm quite "meh" in my general self. I won't lie and pretend to be excited over the future or be interested in what they're doing at the weekend. I know I must sound like a right miserable cunt if I was to have a conversation. My patience is short like my legs and I'm aware I can just switch off.

I also don't wanna make someone feel like they've done something wrong if we are having a decent chin wag coz I'm feeling OK and then blank em the next day coz I'm brain fried or worrying about external stuff. They'll have done nowt wrong but probably left thinking "what did I say to deserve getting ignored?"

In truth it could be nothing at all, I'm just mentally quite closed off with things as they stand.

I laughed.

If they still have 1 or 2 word replies after a couple of messages I'd give up. Especially if they demand a conversation in their profile rant.

It's a bit of a royal "amuse me!" kind of thing.

I can waffle on all day about cake and a zombie apocalypse.

Any mention of lockdown or sex chat and my brain disintegrates into a flurry of confetti.

Yes that's me minus the cake and zombie apocalypse.

I have the attention span of butter unless it's something gripping like The Masked Singer where I just have to watch.

Good thank you and relieved to see some sense of humour has descended upon the topic, it seemed to start off a little too serious and really wasn't meant to be a moan.
