professional or selfish?

she has been struggling to get any times in the last few years, yet still insisted she was alright to compete in the olympics, yet now she has had to pull out, before a step in anger.

im all for everyone getting a chance, but surely she must have seen her form isnt the best, age is against her, and her body is in bits.

should she have not put herself forward for it and let someone up and coming get a go.

She should have probably let someone else have a go..

Maybe i'm a bit cynical but she often seemed to do better at the 'paid' races than she did at the olympics etc..

could be just a perception..

I believe she has let us down before at the Olympics! Didn't she struggle to get to one games only to be forced out by injury?

I think she is way past her prime and we ought to stop treating her and others (Beckham!) as though they are the only people who can do what they do! Time to bring others through and forget "Celebrity has beens".. IMHO!

with all due respect, someone dressed as winnie the pooh can run a better race than she will do at these olympics lol.

take an amateur, if we dont have any pro runners.

isnt that what the olympics was all about originally?

Her head fell off after Athens and she has never been the same runner since.

The selfish comments are somewhat unfounded as a replacement (Freya Murray) has already been named.

damn.. you beat me too it....

if she had waited till the day before then yes it would have been selfish because at that stage you would have not been able to make an replacement...

but she pulled out at the stage where a replacement could be named... and they would have known about it and been on standby for a while....

its a shame for paula that here best form in the 10k and the marathon were in the middle of olympic cycles.....

Having watched her protest her innocence on BBC earlier, I'm not convinced and the more I see of her, the less convinced I become.

I don't see why she is unwilling to post her results

Why should she have to, it's for authorities to prove guilt not for her to prove innocence.

There's no compulsion but until she does, doubts will linger.

One could say that about any outstanding sporting performance.

I don't like to not believe. Come on, Paula, just publish the results. Many others have.

I can't but feel that if Farah or Radcliffe represented a different country, attitudes would be different.

Sorry but i dont think she should have to. Why is it those in the media are guilty until they prove themselves innocent??

I would like to think the attitude of any reasonable person would be innocent until proven otherwise....

so who else should we not believe?????
