Have an awesome opportunity to do a full redecorate of my bedroom and I'm looking for ideas. I want to aim for quietly kinky in shades of purple...what kit or dungeon equipment would you put in? How might it be disguised if the 'rents come to visit...weird and wonderful ideas welcome.

Gapping Fanny

A friend of ours hid a rope suspension point behind a smoke alarm. It was reinforced etc.

Furniture wise Id look at a cross and/or spanking bench.

You can get collapsable ones, however you want to make sure they are able to take a decent load.

You can get suspension frames, but they would be difficult to disguise, unless you are happy to break them down.

I wonder if the suspension frames could come big enough to go over the bed and have fabric draped over so it appears to be a canopy at first glance

I do love a cross. Be hard to pass it off as part of the structure in this house but I'm willing to claim its an artistic feature

I'll have to see how much space I manage to make. Sorting out the walk in wardrobe so I don't actually need a wardrobe or drawers in the room, might still be a squeeze

Im a carpenter/builder and have a 1700sft workshop.. also good at structual stuff due to my job.. so making stuff isnt a problem..

Also saw a cross on an american site that collasped into a plant stsndso it just sat in the hall.. lol hood ole google

I would put in four rope suspension points over my four poster bed and dress them with silks for passing vanilla inspection also a sex sofa which is easily glammed up with cushions and a throw

I think it depends imon what you do most play wise

For me it would be some suspension points, clear floor space and some maybe a way to fit a post etc, but I'm really bondage focused

Its always a balancing act. Hoping to convert some room at home to a dedicate play space soon, because who knows what/if venues will be about when this is all over

I am fortunate to have my own home and don't have to worry too much about hiding my sex furniture and toys.

So I converted my 2nd bedroom into a dungeon playroom. Something I had wanted to do for years!

The room was completed by the addition of 5 ceiling anchor points for suspension bondage and a sex swing!

If you are looking to buy a very versatile item of furniture that can be easily stored away then opt for a massage table! Mine is black p.v.c and cost around £80 from ebay 5 years ago. Money very well spent. Also as it is well, just a standard massage couch, (unless you pimp it up with metal eyelets as rope bondage points like I did with mine!) If any vanillas discover it, then it is JUST a massage table!

Depending on what you want from a suspension point, I have heard people use a chain around a joist and just have the tip of the chain coming through the ceiling (obviously properly installed) from which they hang the ring from a carabiner. When it needs to be vanilla they hang a plant pot or storm light from it. On the site that can't be mentioned there is an ongoing thread called Above the Ring where people contribute about suspension points.

Echoing an earlier contributor I have heard of St Andrew crosses that look vanilla but fold out to the usual shape. Similarly there adaptable spanking benches.

I have a bamboo suspension point up above my stairs. The friends and visitors that don't know assume, that I use it for pullups. Well I do in a way.

Halford sells inexpensive rubber camping mats in squares that join together which are good for rope groundwork and also double up as an exercise mat that can be stored away.

I've hidden my suspension points behind a smoke along in the past, a hole went through to the room about and a climbing tape was dropped over a scaffold pole and through the hole. A carabiner then clipped on. Gave me a chance to inspect the climbing tape etc each time before use etc.

Its worth noting that general joist are thicker and sturdier than rafters

There are some awesome tripod and quad pod frames out there at reasonable prices these days too, which break down when not in use etc

As a sideline I occasionally make bespoke bondage and dungeon gear / bdsm furniture, and even things like high quality glory holes. I use mainly wood and rope, and a lot of it is made to pack away discreetly or be disguised as furniture when not in use.

What to get depends very much on your tastes and what you're into.... so it's hard to advise.

Google searching gear is a very pleasant distraction to engage in during lockdown. I agree with a most of the good advice on here about things like the crosses, suspension points etc....

I've got two friends who do the same who have both offered me ideas and instruction on how to construct things. My former Dom, bless him, clearly has a much higher expectation of my woodworking skills given the design for a four poster bed he sent me earlier today...I need to keep it simple but effective.

Ropework is much easier to learn to do well than Carpentry. Rope spider webs and cages are easy to store and can be great fun.

Whilst searching Fab Forum, for dungeon sizes, I came across this post, so i hope you don't mind me hijacking it and posing the aged old question of size; how big does it have to be? I have a ventilated, pretty much sound proof store at the back of my garage, measuring 4ft 8 inches by 5ft 4 inches, 6'6" high, has a load bearing roof and could easily be adapted to anything. I have been wondering about adding a bit of extra spice to our sex life and bdsm is always something we have toyed with, so do any of you switched on dungeon masters think I could create something with that space? I like the idea of a swing and have looked at a few of these, the fold away massage table would also work, and love the idea of a cross. Leather wrist and ankle restraints arrived a few weeks ago.

Good carabiner will help with put and take down of kit to make it flexible etc etc

Bear in mind, somewhere to store stuff too!!
