I think anyone answering milk first is worthy of a forum ban

It tends to be at least 3 minutes. Pour the just boiled water stir for a few seconds leave spoon on top of mug go.do something for a bit come back remove teabag after further stirring and then add milk.

Along as the result is not milky looking its all good.

The best tea is the one that someone secretly makes and surprises you with it

Doesn't matter how they've made it

I only use loose leaf tea now. I’m the only one who drinks it here at the moment so I’ve got a small Cafetiere just for tea. 3 minutes is perfect, timed to perfection on Alexa.

As much as I would appreciate a surprise cup of tea if it was really strong or really weak I wouldn't enjoy it.

You can get great in cup infusers, best I've had is a stainless steel, fine one from Amazon. Easy to clean and can pop in the dishwasher. Makes single serve loose leaf easier

Boil kettle at least twice (because I forget I’ve boiled it); pour hot water on teabag in cup; leave for a minute; get involved in something else; forget I have made tea; come back to find it cold and the spoon has dissolved; make coffee instead
