Talking about his bipolar diagnosis on tv (amongst other things), very interesting.

No idea who that is but wouldn't be interested in that type of TV anyway.

Saw him on The One Show the other day.

Pretty illuminating hearing him talking about his life. I did feel he was struggling, but good that he can be open about it.

Same here. He was talking about his adoption, how dogs have made a huge difference in MH healing when he had a breakdown. I felt every word.

He seems like a thoroughly decent bloke. Anybody who understands the part animals can play in a person's life is OK by me.

Kinda seems a bit pointless you posting then.

Yep - I had a breakdown, and could see so much of me in him.

Actually - my friend’s dad worked with him, and said he could be a difficult character. Knowing what we know now, I suspect that was him covering things up. It very often is.

Respect to him for being so open about such issues, hopefully it might help others to reach out if they need to..

As the child of a bi polar sufferer, and now the mother of one, I would watch it. The stigma of mental health issues needs addressing

What channel/ programme? Wonder if it's online somewhere to catch up.

What is the obsession with celebs / others feeling the need to inflict their state of mind upon the rest of us?

It's about reducing stigma, letting the general public know its OK to have mental illness

Fuck me, isnt there any so called celebrity that hasn’t got some form of disorder or is it just another way getting more publicity... ? I’d be more concerned with people I know and I don’t know any celebrities, thank god... I’d get sick of hearing all about them if I went for a pint with em ..

The general public already knows this, or at least the majority knows. There will always be some narrow minded folk out there, unfortunately, but I watch TV to be entertained, not to listen to some washed-up celeb bleat about their struggles.

He was a guest on Sunday Brunch, Channel4 on Sunday just gone. while the show is generally for entertainment, his interview segment was very good and thought provoking.
