Heard so much about them, but never tried one, what’s your view?

Avocados Guac'N' roll.

They are meant to be good kind of fat. I wish I was made of avocado pulp. Pit(y) included.

Since they became fashionable there has been a huge rise in Avocado related accidents, apparently!

They taste a bit of nothing tbh

But full of calories!

They need to go with something a bit salty - eg bacon

Limbo

I love them mashed up with chilli, avocado, lime, red onion and coriander, on sourdough toast and crispy bacon. However, I still bear the scar from an incident of 'avocado hand' when I stuck a ten inch knife through my palm necessitating a trip to A&E. Lesson learnt re: removing stone with a spoon in future

"

I know, it doesn’t live up to the title, I was going to do my usual schtick, you know the thing. Avocados were first invented by Sir Robert Avocado in 1982 when he crossed a butternut squash with a cucumber, cause he wanted a fruit with a toy inside. What’s your views on them, apparently the health benefits are amazing. Have you tried one, or do you know anyone who’s tried one, have you seen one in public, are organic better if so why. Why is it always the same toy inside, why don’t they mix it up a bit ?!

But I figured people are tired of that shit, so I gave up!

Yes us black folks have been eating them for years

Trouble is the ones they sell you now in Sainsburys et al are generally rock hard, unripe and never going to ripen . God knows what they do to them but no wonder people truing them for the first time don't like them.

A ripe avo is delicious

Very nice with Cajun-spiced salmon and salad, or with chargrilled chicken in a wrap.

Also great used with lots of basil, some garlic, chillies, Pecorino cheese, lemon juice, salt and pepper to make a pesto.

Gosh no. The most blandest thing ever. And you buy them and they’re never ripe. And you leave them to ripen and then go over ripe. So vexing.

Love avocados although buying avocados in the UK is just like playing Russian roulette: not ripe enough, too ripe... but when you get a good one, it's like winning the lottery. I lead such an exciting life

I grew up in South Africa with several large Avo trees.... Gorged myself on them almost every day for about 8 months of year. All the animals loved them, even the dogs and cats would eat them.

Luckily we had the lemon and lime trees to go with them too.
