When I distinguish between Western style and Japanese I am using shorthand to distinguish between using the rope merely to restrain someone (and a bit of pretty rope thrown in) which broadly is Western style. I use 6mm jute for play, I have hanks in natural colour and also some in mauve. I have hempex,and synthetic rope in gold for playing in clubs or crotch ties because those types of rope are easy to clean, and do not need to do the stretching and singeing natural rope needs after a wash. I have cotton rope for a change, and coconut rope for the masochistic. | |||
