Calling Newbury Fabbers

Morning Fabulous Fabbers, I will be working in Newbury soon for around 4 months. In the years I have been in this reality I have never visited or even heard anyone speak of the place.

Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations on what there is to do, any quirky/quaint places or beauty spots which are under the intranetic radar (I know its not a word). You know those special places only the locals know.

Any recommendations would grateful appreciated.

Thank you please

I'm happy to be the noob, it'll help people of Newbury feel better about themselves at least.

Only ever been to Nando's once in my life....not really a fan.

I am sure I'll find its gems, if any.

Nr. Oxford

There’s a pub in town called The Newbury. It does great food and has its own Gin Distillery.

We’ve had a few nice socials there as parking is easy and it’s usually busy but not too busy. Obviously it’s not open at the moment though.

The Ridgeway is just down the road for walking and cycling if so inclined.

Then as said Nando’s if that’s your thing, and some half empty shopping centres. There a bowling alley down the road in Thatcham, and you’re about 20 minutes from Reading if you want a busier nightlife.
