Leading on from something that was mentioned to me earlier, how much is too much when it comes to profiles on here?

I like to think mine is a good description of myself, enough that i feel someone could get an understanding of me. Granted theres always room for improvement.

So what do you think is just enough, not enough or to much when it comes to it.

Yes, content and context, and also concise. Any more than a few paragraphs and I think lots will stop reading unless they're really into the person. I've seen a few which are way too long and quickly turn into shouty not very appealing or erudite rants which is an immediate 'no'. Just a description, some facts, no drama needed. Some seem to be competing in 'who can say the least but use the most words'.

At the other end of the scale ones which say almost nothing, have had no thought, just make it look like they can't bo bothered.

Some people manage a great profile text in a paragraph, others write a very readable short book, so there's no fixed answer, but concise and readable is probably as important as length.

I think too short is far more common than too long.

Though content is all important. I generally prefer longer profiles,

as they tend to give a better idea of the person who wrote it.

Generally, the more someone writes about themselves, the more you can pick up on. Although there are some short profiles that are very humorous.....nearly wrote humus then

I'm aware it's long, I'm aware it's got a serious point to it.

However that is how strongly I feel, and if it puts people off who don't hold the same values as me then I'm all for it.

People can always scan through text if they choose to but you can't judge anyone's suitability by what isn't present. When we come across vitrually empty profiles we just move on. It's a subjective issue but if you're reading something interesting and relevant you tend to carry on. If it's not you don't.

I don't think there is such a thing as too much or too little (apart from a 'wanna fuk' in the bio). It shows you who you're compatible with and that's not a bad thing.

I find mine straight to the point - explains what I’m looking for and gives a little insight into fantasies/preferences I have

Some can come across as arrogant but I just skip past those, everyone is different and what you chose to divulge on your profile is your choice

We’re never going to appeal to everyone nor do I have a desire to do so x

I'd much prefer to see a longer profile, than one that's 2 or 3 words and looks like no effort has been made.

It's your profile, you will never please everyone, so have it how you want it.

Like attracts like. There is no perfect anything, everyone is different.

As long as you are happy with your profile you will attract similar people. If it puts people off that's ok because you're not compatible.

The Bermuda Triangle in Suffolk

I rewrote mine today as I thought it was pointless having one during lockdown telling others about me,what I look for etc.etc.

When I feel it is safe to start making plans again I will do a new one.

For me if the profile shows a little a bit about the person or people, their interests and what they’re looking for I think that’s sufficient, a couple paragraphs and it gives you conversation starters.
