Crying after orgasm

Sometimes I burst into tears after an orgasm (mainly since having mirena fitted)

Am I mental? Is it just me?

If any men fancy a hairy, crying mess I am over here

A lot of my friends do this after intense orgams. Think its pretty common for a lot.

Not been there myself to know though. But it's a topic that keeps coming up among our group chat.

Yes, I did once with someone from Fab. It was all very intense and it wasn't like I was crying because I was sad; it was this cathartic release of all this pent up emotion I didn't realise I had inside me. At one point I laugh cried during the fuck knowth orgasm.

He was pretty darn smug about it.

If you're sobbing and fighting a craving for ice cream, don't wank through that. If it's a sexual blissed out one, that's fine.

It is a massive release of oxytocin over a massive decrease of adrenaline and endorphins.

In BDSM terms it is called “drop’

At times, depending on the juxtaposition distance of the high and low, it does need supporting.

Just recognising it helps understanding.

Thing is, is it worth it?

So the better the orgasm, can mean the bigger the “drop.”

Understanding and support helps.

Personally, think the crying is worth it.

I have done this many times.

Mostly after an intense orgasm, or the first time of having sex when I hadn't for a while.

It also happened after every miscarriage I had but that was very different. A mixture of emotions and fear. And the first time after having a child. Again different and more emotional.

I'd say with the children and many losses hormones must have played a part in it somewhere along the line.

I haven't been taken away by the men in white coats yet.

To be honest it's nice to see others in this thread say they've done the same. Makes me feel better about it.

My ex suffered with post orgasm dysphoria. It got to the point where he would try to avoid having an orgasm.. Even alone.

The hormones and chemicals in our bodies during the various stages of sex mean that emotional or sometimes extreme responses are not rare.

The key is understanding what you need and making sure you communicate with your partner

I might buck the trend now but I’ve done it once. We’d had a very intense BDSM session in which we’d taken each other down many levels. It was raw, animalistic raw and so intense and the orgasm I had nearly blew my head off.

My eyes changed and once the adrenaline left my body, I started sobbing uncontrollably...and did not stop for a while...we hugged it out. It was a complete wave of emotion after the intensity and instead of feeling sad, it felt like a complete release...

I took it as a good thing and brought us closer as it really felt like our bodies and minds were attuned to each other.

There's some decent science behind it which should make you feel better about it:

"When we orgasm, our brains and bodies are flooded with hormones, including surges of oxytocin (the “cuddle hormone”) and dopamine (the “happy hormone”). Our bodies also have a physical reaction: you might notice shaking in your legs, a flush on your chest, or an increase in your heart rate. Basically, orgasms can be really intense — and different people have different reactions to them, including crying"

I had this happen to me once when my ex husband and I were still at uni and we'd had some very emotionally intense sex. It was the first time I'd orgasmed through penetration and we came at the same time. The crying completely freaked me out and I didn't let myself connect emotionally like that during sex for years and years after.

I do this sometimes after an intense orgasm.

Had it happen with a FWB from Fab also like a previous poster, and think it freaked him out a little until I explained it was happy tears. I think it's more likely for me when I feel a proper emotional connection rather than just casual sex.
