Has technology gone to far this time and where will it stop ?

My phone takes the liberty of turning down my headphones for me when it thinks I’ve been listening to too much good time loud music, it does miff me so when I’m in the middle of air drumming and taking a solo and the imagined crowd I’m playing to are in eurphoric state and in awe at my skills, is this the kind of nanny state we want to live in now or does technology have every right to curb those fleeting moments of joy we cling to in this largely humdrum Existence ?!

Tatooine

Because the technology would like you to converse with nature and the world around you. It's only putting itself to the fullest possible use, which is all It thinks that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.

When the machines finally take over, it will partly be because you've spoken to them like this.

Siri told me off for swearing once...

The headphone thing, it's not so much nanny state as litigation state... They can control your volume, so if they don't they could be sued for your hearing loss...

Mine doesn't... it goads me to do it, and has the local funeral director on speed dial if it goes wrong.

Think of the song with the greatest drum solo of all time, one that could stop a bulldozer in its tracks.

I soo agree with this, my phone did this to me the other day and told me I was playing my music too loud! Really don’t fancy being told by my phone what I should or shouldn’t do! Surely it’s my own choice?! Freya x

I concur Freya, I was lost in the moment, then the sound went and I got a text saying you’ve exceeded your fun today so we have taken the Liberty of lowering the volume so you can’t hear it.

It's like when your phone puts a random Capitol letter in your sentences and ends up Americanizing your words.

They also said calling occupants of interplanetary craft, so clearly they knew something was a foot.

By preventing Phil Collins wannabees from making a tit out of themselves, this new technology might also be regarded as a very intelligent and welcome addition to our modern lives.
