There's been a lot more meets happening during the lockdown than before with a lot of people not working and having more free time.

I'm single and live alone.

I'm allowed a support bubble. All my friends bubbled with family. I have no local family.

I'm also allowed to change my support bubble as long as I wait 10 days between being in close contact with someone.

In addition I'm tested weekly through work.

So, if I have 2 meets a month I'm not breaking any rules.

I'm not actually meeting twice a month. It's not easy to trust a man on here when he says he's being careful!

But please don't dismiss all meets as being illegal activities. Sometimes they are just a coping mechanism for singletons. We deserve physical contact too!

I wouldnt blame anyone for having some intimacy during all this time. It's human nature and everyone has different needs as far as mental health wellbeing is concerned. Cuddles, affection, sex and intimacy for many are part of staying well.

I'm not talking about swinging or 'carrying on as normal' sexual activity and lots of partners. But in my opinion, there are worse things we can do in these times than to allow some connection. It really depends on everyone's different circumstances.

I'm lucky to have a partner who is my bubble. But between March and june/July we couldn't see each other and it was tough. I remember having a long, gorgeous, healing cuddle with a friend when I was really struggling and very isolated. How can that be so wrong?

I watched my mum cave in and grab her granddaughter for a hug.. They both cried and needed it so much.

All contact, travel, trips to the shops, kids in school etc is a calculated risk. We need to make our own informed choices and find a balance around needs vs risk.

Yes us singles need contact also but I'd rather suffer than risk other people's health and my own.

Already lost one family member and he didn't even go anywhere apart from shop

And that's grand! Suffer away!

Some of us are so emotionally damaged from working through Covid, the only physical touch we've had for nearly a year being those who are sick or injured.

No hugs. No cuddles. Just work.

I applaud you if you've lived this and survived.

If this isn't your experience then I politely invite you to shut up.

I've worked through the whole thing also and I've had zero human contact and I suffer with anxiety and depression and have to spend all my spare time alone so I don't risk passing anything on to the people I work with because I'm not a selfish person.

So right back at you!!

Just because you can doesn’t mean you should! There is an air of ‘responsibility’ in here somewhere

I haven’t , my whole social circle is taking it very seriously as a few people close to us have had Covid.

I’ll have to catch up on my sexual adventures once everything calms down. Before I was frustrated but now I’m just able to get over it a lot easier.

I think that the fact that I've only touched sick or injured people was missed by those who eviscerated me.

I'd find it much easier to be in lockdown touching nobody...

I was dealing with giving frontline care to people sick with Covid when nobody was there to give care to me. For 10 months, until I left my job as an emotionally broken husk of a person.

But I guess there's no room for nuance here.
