My message was deleted without a reply, rather than receive a "no thanks" message.

It lets me know where I stand, and I don't get the false hope of seeing "1 unread"

How about you?

(This probably only applies to the men; women probably see "306 unread" and don't get the same rush that I do from "1 unread" )

Yeah, those threads infuriate me. Some blokes here have such a sense of entitlement... not a great quality.

Even when I do politely reply with a no thanks, some men then reply back with something vile and uncalled for. Cant win sometimes

Another tip for guys: if you message a woman to compliment her on her pics, and she just replies with "thanks", that's all it is. A polite conversation-stopper. Do not pursue!

I think we should all just accept it mate, i don't get many messages

And say when I'm interested.

I think the girls would have a hard time replying to all to be honest.

Definitely. I think a lot of guys see a message and take it as a green light, regardless of the content. Sometimes you just need to read between the lines a little.

I love logging in to see 1 unread or an extra couple of people have looked at my profile it’s the little things like that on here that get my hopes up

The majority of the people I've said "no thank you" to this year have replied to thank me for actually replying to their message. No abuse and no hassle.

This, has made me tend not to reply as I got more abuse for saying thankyou but no trying to be polite and respectful..

I usually just see a read and deleted message or just read with no reply, but I just take it on the chin

I'm guessing that the women get bombarded with messages and sometimes it's overwhelming and annoying for them

We try to reply to every decent message we get but most of our mail comes from guys who clearly haven't read our profile (even if they say they have) to find out where we are, what we're looking for etc. first. We find it bizarre but if they can't be bothered, we can't.
