So my Ps2 has been with me through thick and thin and survived 4am button bashing from mates coming back from the pub in years gone by.

I'm going to give it to a neighbours son which has left me undecided what to replace it with.

Where would your money go, ps or Xbox and which model.

Mostly used for football, war, Motorsport and grand theft auto type games.

Love to hear your thoughts

I found no difference between the ps4 and 5 and only a few games for the ps5 now . I'd get a ps4 if I'm honest dude.

I dusted off my PS2 the other day; great machine in its day. I’ve owned a PS3 and currently have an XBox One and a Wii. The serious (younger gamers) seem to gravitate towards the PSs. I’ve got my eye on a Switch at the moment (or is that a reference to someone on fabs? Hmm, probably both! )

I've got a Nintendo Switch, some good games on there plus I love the SNES/NES games available to play. I fell away from gaming after the ps3.

I always regretted giving away my ps2!

I've got a 360 but boy child took the controllers when he moved out.

I was gonna get a controller and hook it up to my bedroom telly but the telly has given up the ghost now anyway

I've been playing some retro 80s style console games on Steam. They've got a great feel

The correct answer is xbox. Even Sheldon Cooper has this dilemma and chose xbox over ps.

If you can pic up a Series X I would

Game pass is out off this world and beats ps now hands down

Also more backwards compatible

The smaller Xbox series s can only do 1080p or 1440p if you don’t own a 4K tv then probably would be your best bet

If you own a 4K tv then pic up the series X

PS5...amazing with 4K TV and the 3D sound is out of this world. It's a different experience. You can play all PS4 games on it but only PS5 games have the 3D sound.

I'm going to be *that* guy and say build a PC

More versatile, upgradeable, and most of the games you'd play on console are out on PC anyway.

Depends on what you want to do really.

Cutting edge go PS5, but its a pain to get hold of. I wouldnt bother getting a Series X or S, instead go for their XBox Game Pass for PC as it gives you the same games and is cheaper overall (as long as you have a PC powerful enough). In that light, if you want to be part of the Master Race get a PC. They are generally better but cost more pound-for-pound.

If you're a casual then a Switch will sort you out enough, games tend to lean more on the "family/child" side though.

If its just retro gaming then get a Raspberry Pi and build a mini-computer (its so much easier than you think), and load it up with all the Sega, NES, SNES, PS1,Xbox games you can find.

Hope that wall of text helps.

He has a Xbox x or something. He also has every sega, Nintendo, Xbox console from over the years. Sony wise only a ps1 and ps2. He has the pong console too and something else that loads of cassette tapes. That’s a thing?
