My Fucking Heating has broke down..

And I've had to lay here in bed fully clothed with my slippers on for 5 hours now.

Cant send anyone till the morning now .

Any offers to keep me warm please

If it's a condensing boiler, check the condensate pipe (usually plastic going from the bottom of the boiler out through the wall to the drain / soil stack. When it's really freezing cold, it's not uncommon for the condensate drain to freeze, block and fill the bottom of the boiler with water. There's a sensor that notices this and shuts the boiler down. There should be a fault code for this.

If you defrost the drain pipe, the water should run out and you can reset the boiler to turn on again.

Boik the kettle and have a hot water bottle, or put a wheat bag in the microwave. Lots of thinner layers are better than a couple of thick ones, or go and pester your local fb?!

Always a good idea to have an alternative heating supply for emergencies.

Often people with a gas boiler don’t appreciate that if there is an electrical power failure the pump won’t work and so no heating.

I have a heater that uses bottles of gas for emergencies or as additional heat if freezing weather. It looks quite nice and like a wood burner.

Hope you get your heating sorted.

Hate that .nearly as bad as the wheel puncher i had this afternoon parked on a hill approx 3.30 pm .coming on the dark .van brought new two years ago .look up the instructions manual trying to find all the bits .one ratchet in the glove compartment eventually managed it all and changed the flat just before the dark. No and van didn't roll away .but was on my mind it might ..... been there done that ??? Ha .

not really supposed to use them on sealed propertys due to carbon monoxide poisoning

He could get something on hire until the heating is fixed as it is his duty to get the heating for for you all. Just tell him if you all go out and buy an electric blow heater and leave it on 24/7 his electric bill will be sky high. If he has a contract on his heating they may come out today. I suggest you put the oven on in the meantime and leave the oven door on partly open.

Yes but the new ones have a safety feature that if not enough oxygen in the air they go out. And of course you should have a CO2 detector in the room by law in rental properties for every room that has a gas appliance.

Worked for me yesterday. I was getting a click on the thermostat but nowt from the boiler. I was about to go batshit I could see my breath it was that cold.

I was lucky the old of and on again at the socket did the trick.

I've got a fan heater for next to my desk in the daytime, it is brilliant.. Might be worth buying one for your living area from argos or supermarket?

Also hot water bottles !

Boil couple of kettles for a splash bath to get warm

In one of my rental properties I had a prospective tenant come round who went off at me for about 10 minutes about the fact there are no CO2 detectors in the place.

He seemed to be having such a good time that I didn't have the heart to point out that there is no gas supply to the property at all..... electric only.
