What kind of distance.....

Middlesbrough

Is realistic.

(Hypothetically of course)

You've hit it off, exchanged pleasantries and the big meet is being set in motion, what's the maximum (or minimum) distance you'd realistically travel to a meet, be it social or play

I loaded up the panniers on my Brompton once and crossed hill and dale for 4 days, when I got there she said she could never sleep with a man with a foldaway bicycle, she did however make me some sandwiches for the return journey, which she didn’t have to do.

Good answers here, friend for life, connections, spark, weekends away to make the best of it.

If the right person is at the end of the journey it seems distance isn't really an issue in some cases

It's all an adventure isn't it? Whilst local is comvenient, I've driven 200 miles round trip and even flown to Spain and Scotland. And all apart from one were brilliant.

I had to reheat it a few times on a gas stove, which is fine for leek and potato, but not advisable for chicken soup.

Distance is so relative. In some countries driving four or five hours is nothing, in the UK it’s a major adventure! If an ongoing relationship is right then a bit of travelling is very little effort; if you want casual hook ups then I guess it’s a pain. All relative.

I wouldn’t just message one person on the highlands and drive to a meet but I’d happily travel, I just see it as part of the adventure for / with the right person. I wouldn’t exclude a few hours travel, worst case scenario I have a few drinks and have a laugh, by then I’d know at least a fair bit about that person.

As a general rule, it's the distance/time it takes to get to the club that I'm attending. I very rarely arrange meets just one on one from FAB.

I have however driven over 360 miles for a meet. It was a full weekend away and a total of about 750 miles driven but was well worth every mile.

I’ve traveled to London for a club night and to Edinburgh for another. My favourite club (club play) is in Blackpool, just under an hour.

I don’t intend to spend close to two hours getting ready, for a quick five minute meet. So for me distance isn’t a big issue as long as it’s going to be worth my time getting ready for it.
