If you went for a job vacancy and got turned down.

How many people would go for that exact same job if it was advertised 6 months later?

If you're qualified and you want it, yes

Difficult one.

I'd like to think they'd give me a call back to see if I was still interested if they thought I was good enough, however I'd be concerned at the frequency of the turnover though and make sure I asked why the vacancy became available again so quickly.

But no, I don't think I would re-apply if I had to go through the whole process again unless it was something I really wanted or was desperately in need of a new job.

I’d contact them directly and ask if it was worth me applying, in fact I have done this myself.

It depends on how much I wanted that specific job.

I agree! With GDPR they don’t tend to keep info on file and you may have been a close 2nd. If they say no then there’s no time wasted.

It would depend. Whenever I went for an interview and wasn't chosen (I know it's unbelievable!) the interviewer used to give feedback. Deciding whether to go for the job if it was readvertised would depend on the feedback I'd received.

similar answer - I had this exact situation in 2019... didn't get the role but it came back up 6 weeks later and they contacted me to take it without interview. I wouldn't have applied again if they didn't approach me with some guarantees.
