I haven't given anything up since I gave up smoking about 35 years ago. Once I'd made my mind up to do it, it was surprisingly easy.

I make a point nowadays of not giving anything up if its going to be difficult

I gave up smoking 14 years ago, which was bloody hard. I've given up vaping and sugar in the past but have succumbed to both again. I'm determined to stop by April, one at a time so I don't have to deal with a double whammy of cravings.

On a side note, why do we say 'give up' when talking about addictions? It's an odd choice of words. Surely 'stopping' is more accurate
