When somethings different from before

I am legend (film) is very loosely based on the book.

For instance the book is about vampires and are fought off with such classic deterents like garlic crosses etc.

I expect which also explains why the 'monsters' in the film are allergic to sunlight.

The vampires know where neville is and he spends most nights fighting them off not hiding in a bathtub

neville is the last survivor, hence the title "I am legend" being a statement about his species being extinct and also reflected on the ending being different...

I loved The Man in The High Castle. Alternative ending to WWII.

To give this thread context:

I posted this in the virus section and don't know if it was read or seen, so I thought I'd leave it here to discuss too. Plus as it's not very virus related and more related to films and books it doesn't belong there, to be honest though the original thread topic was vague and a far removed abstraction anyway...

well if I've informed at least one person about these points that were unknown before, then it was worth mentioning and makes me happy

dontbefuckingnosey

4 films have been made/based on the book

The Last Man on Earth (1964)

The Omega Man (1971)

I Am Legend (2007)

I Am Omega (also released in 2007).

The book is brilliant... the films, not so much.

I just never got over the dog dying in I am legend , will never watch that film again. Crying my eyes out over that, a German Shepard as well. Heartbreaking.

They're both different ways of storytelling. I've seen people get told off for not reading a book before watching and it's unnecessary.

Strange how during fiction film or TV I find people always seem more concerned for animal welfare than that of human characters

The Last Man on Earth was the closest to the book as it depicts vampire's

I think the Last Man on Earth with Vincent Price was the closest to the book as it depicts vampire's

The book is brilliant... the films, not so much.

I was pregnant when I watched this film, cried for days. Couldn't even tell my mum what was wrong with me over the phone, couldn't get the words out. It was only when I heard her starting to panic that I laughed and managed to get the words past the lump in my throat.Lol

In the original novel of Jurassic Park Dr Hammond is a lot nastier and cold hearted than portrayed by Richard Attenborough. He is also killed in the book.

Real life. Floods in Australia, watching people's homes flood, cars washed away. Nothing. A deer goes passed , pushed by the current, not out it's depth but wet. Instant sympathy for the poor deer.
