Social time etiquette...

So....

The all clear is given, the bubbles are gone, the crowds are gathering and meets are back on....

You've been invited to join a couple at their home for social coffee, it's been predetermined that it will only be social and no play is taking place on this occasion.

Single men, single ladies, couples.

Whats the etiquette, how long d'you stay before that dreaded "overstaying" time starts ticking by.

Whats the right amount of time to spend with another couple so it's not awkward or beginning to get uncomfortable?

Reading their body language is an excellent indicator I find ...

After the first coffee, if they keep offering another, stay.

If after your cup is empty and they don't offer, leave.

If they say oh are you sure you don't want to another, it's up to you to decide

I don't think there is a one size answer. Follow their lead maybe? Once I met couple and then left when I thought it was the right moment and then they actually rang me up ten minutes later and invited me back

Its hard to put an exact time as there are many variables but I would say up to an hour normally, but in extraordinary circumstances you could stretch that out a little.

The purpose of a first social is to gauge interest between both parties, which is usually done in the first 10 minutes I find.

It's difficult isn't it. I think it's up to all concerned to make it clear. If we'd invited someone we'd say beforehand that we had an appointment at a certain time so there was no confusion, it's down to the guest to leave by that time or before.

You just know when it's time.

If they start looking at their watch then definitely say goodbye.

I wouldn’t go to someone’s house for a social, and I think overstaying your welcome is less of a problem in a cafe.

I prefer a social in a club, because after I've spent time dazzling them with wit and blackjacks, I can then move off and carry on the good work with someone else

Definitely! Nobody feels awkward that way and everyone has an escape plan if it’s not going as expected.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

I think if they're looking at the clock it's an indication they want you gone.....

Another in agreement.

Also, you've been part of a couple, you're not new to the scene. I don't believe you've forgotten how to interact with people in person already

I may have to memorise this thread because my ability to read ordinary social cues seems to have completely deserted me in this third lockdown!

I wouldn’t go to someone’s house for a social unless I was already very comfortable with them.

If I was already very comfortable with them then I wouldn’t go to their house for anything other than sex.

If I went to their house for sex then I’d probably know it was time to leave after we’d completed the sex, unless they made it very clear they wanted me to stay.

Maybe asked me to stay over.

Had some blue pyjamas ready for me with my initials in white embroidery on, promised tea and toast in the morning, let me sleep in the middle so they could both wake up with their heads on my chest and my fingers scrunching their hair.

That sort of thing.

Like others have said it depends. Usually for a social I'll meet somewhere public so it's a little easier if you do want to leave. But some socials have ended quite quickly if there's nothing there but others for me have lasted a few hours because we've been blethering away and enjoying each others company

I genuinly ended up sleeping in the middle of a couple once

The mrs was someone I had played with twice before though, there was alcohol envolved, and I got a maccies breakfast and a ride home in the morning
