I’ve just started learning about it.

He has special breathing exercises, and you do cold water immersion.

Apparently it is very effective for immune disorders.

I haven’t finished researching, but he says it is backed up by proper studies.

Ha, no! Just about to do the 10 second cold shower with the breathing. I’m a very cold person so I’m not sure how it will go...

I've read some studies (peer reviewed medical research) about cold and some autoimmune disorders. So yeah I can see how this is viable. I think from my out understanding of my body how critical breathing is to pain management etc.

Yes but to be fair have just gone into a wetsuit. Temp is down to 6c now. Till November I was going in with just bikini, socks, hat and gloves, then a wetsuit jacket. It’s the point went the cold hits your chest that’s hardest. Only gone for a wetsuit because really shouldn’t be in bare for more than about 5mins at that temperature. Wetsuit just lets you stay in longer. You should try it. I reckon you’d love it. Mentally it’s exhilarating especially at sunrise and on full moon at night.

I know quite a few people in our local swimming groups who have had various health conditions which it’s helped. Including one guy who had daily migraines, to the point he couldn’t work. Now he has daily swims.

I’m too much of a big kid to do skins now, I like to be in for about half an hour sometimes more, I miss the feeling of being bare though

Yes there are... a number in the states... Ross Edgley’s book “World’s fittest book” has some references to them as well as some of Wim techniques and thinking behind them..
