Forums are mostly idle entertainment for me. The group socials I'm interested in though and it's good for staying in touch with people I meet in clubs or finding out about new events. Occasionally I meet the odd person too

I don't need it what with being so outstanding.

I do prefer it though, it's easier for me to explain my situation. The men who approach me at supermarkets (or pubs/bars back in days of yore) are very much after a quick, discreet bonk. Or they are the sort who worry that if they do more than briefly glance at your lips you're going to fall madly in love with them. Women in the real world can't have casual sex without picking out their wedding dress apparently.

I’m actually massively socially awkward. Fabswingers has been a great way for me to make friends and to be upfront about what I’m looking for.

I also find it the best site for finding couples to have fun with which I enjoy.

I struggle massively to find relationships and I often mess them up over thinking so I’ve kinda given up for now!

We can’t play so it’s about maintaining relationships, establishing new ones for when times allow us to meet others.

It’s also the only place you can actually be yourself...in vanilla world you have to hide a part of you.

For us as a couple it’s a way of trying to find other like minded couples. Not easy to do that outside of a site like this as we live abroad and don’t do clubs.

For singles I think it’s a bit like a sex dating site.

The simple answer OP is that the underlying purpose of the site is so that people can meet others for NSA sex (it might not be what everyone uses it for, but it's still the underlying principle) - so it makes sense that if that is what someone is looking for for them to join here rather than use other means.

At least that initial ice has been broken in terms of any awkwardness about what you're looking for and being able to be relatively open and honest about sexual desires, which might not be the case via more traditional routes.

I probably would get interest on Tinder or whatever, if I could be bothered with it, but I don’t think that means I’m anything special. I used to get interest offline as well, in the days when we could go out, it just wasn’t the kind of interest I was interested in.

If you see Fab as a place for singles to hook up with other singles for NSA sex, then I can see why you might wonder what people get here that they can’t get elsewhere. Personally, I would never use Tinder or anything like it, because I’m not interested in a string of dismal ONS with sexually unadventurous men. I’m here because I want more than that. Where else would I look for three-, four-, and moresomes? Would Tinder be any use for arranging a gangbang? Doubt it! So regardless of what I might look like, what I can get elsewhere just doesn’t measure up to what I can get here.

I'm definitely not in the wrong place, I've met my best friend through Fab amd some bloody lovely people too and had some amazing times at the few clubs I have been to before we were all locked down and the clubs closed and that was due to Fab and some of the frankly lovely people on here.

You ask a fair question about why people feel the need to use this site, but I was slightly offended by the implication that it should not be necessary for good looking people (even if you didn't intend it, the implication was there).

I’ve been socialising online since 1992, during my first year at university. The internet provided me with such relief- making friends easily, whether it was in the same computer lab or thousands of miles away from me. It helped a lot with my social awkwardness. I met my husband online in 1998, when it was still seen as “weird” if anyone dated/married anyone they’d met online.

Since then I have used all sorts of social internet tools to meet people of different interests, so Fab is a natural step for me. I consider myself relatively insecure in real life- so talking online is so much easier and more natural for me. Progression to a face-to-face meet is much more natural and fluid and happier when time has been invested talking...

I have no “needs” whatsoever, I am not desperate for sex and my purpose on Fab has been to meet amazing people and collect incredible moments and memories, and oh boy, has this little website delivered on that front. I owe it so much.
