Good luck to everyone competing, I hope you achieve your dreams.

To all the parents, relatives & siblings who will have spent hours and hours supporting your loved ones... well done x

I hope all participating in the opening ceremony have an absolute blast tonight.

I have gone from indifference to complete excitement and I can't wait for tonight to come..

I'm really excited, I'm volunteering and I really can't wait. I've never really bothered about the Olympics before, but I think a combination of it being held on home turf, and being involved to such a huge scale, has changed that.

I'll no doubt be trying to hold back tears at every medal ceremony, not succeeding most of the time, as I'm a soppy sod like that.

Oh and I have tickets for wheelchair basketball and I am sooooo excited about that!!!

he has really been taken by the whole Olympic spirit. As it is currently raining here,we are having a "crafty day" as he calls it and are making creations with hama beads (plastic beads you put on peg board and then iron to melt together) and he has made numerous olympic rings designs and is about to do a union jack to hold when he watches the olympics...

We know a few people who are in the Opening Ceremony. It'll be chish and fipps in front of the telly this evening and going 'ooh' and 'aah'. Then there are all the other Olympic related things going on so if you don't like the sports bit get along to one of the free art things. Jubilympics! Enjoy!

Can't say all the events will draw my attention...maybe watch more than I would have done if it were hosted in a different country (mainly due to time difference elsewhere).

For me it will be the occasion and history. The UK won't host this again in my life time so it's a piece of history to tell the grand kids about...when I get them...I'm far too young!

I also think it's been a nostalgic year for the country with the jubilee. Well done Bradley, hard luck Andy and let's hope our team do us proud especially on home turf. I do hope the usual British hobby of 'lets moan and slate everyone' doesn't kick in.

Come on team GB. It's your moment of glory. Good luck and enjoy every minute. I'm proud to be British

Yes, the torch relay has gone really well. 1,000s on the street in Tottenham and no trouble. Even Charlie and Camilla were welcomed.

I am already emotional, I have never watched one before so am really looking forward to it.

I just think all these young people taking part, the memories will stay a lifetime. The young athletes who have trained, not got into any bother with drink or drugs and the sad things that blight some of our young... and there are people who just can't encourage that with a few positive words.. It is a real shame.

It`s been brilliant to see not only the commitment and the response from the crowd but to see tears when medals have been won and missed by fractions. The comments by the rowers today who missed gold by fractions and blubbed because they`ve "let people down". Have they buggery!!! They gave it their all and that showed in their exhaustion and emotion!

Fantastic job ALL of our competitors and their supporters, coaches, family et all!

The Olmpics still lives at a school near me, or rather 1/3 of a building used at the Olympics does! The school was struck by lightning and the Art block destroyed in the resulting fire. As a temporary measure part of the athelete`s food hall has been hired in to provide accomodation until the Art block is rebuilt.
