Right fabsters, you could possibly save me a fortune here.

Our electric oven is old and in desperate need of a total clean. It's that, or she's told me I have to buy a new one!!

Seriously, it is bad, to the extent that it burns our eyes and smokes quite a bit when the door is opened.

So what's the best cleaning stuff?

Astonish oven and grill. It's about £4.99. Or get an oven cleaning company out about £75 but worth every damn penny

Oven pride, or invest in having someone come and do it for you. X

Get professional cleaners in to clean it/service it. Cheaper than a new oven and you don’t have to clean the oven.

I like the ones that come with a plastic bag to put all the shelves and oven tray in - seal and leave overnight and then wash off all the baked on rubbish - about £7

To do the inside you need to check whether it is a self clean oven or not. If self clean you put an oven proof bowl or tray full of water on the bottom of the oven and then heat it on the highest setting for about 30 mins. Turn off and let cool a little and then wipe it out with kitchen roll and wipe it down with a cloth rinsed out in warm water.

If it isn’t self clean I like “Oven Pride” cleaner - very effective but take care as good oven cleaners burn skin and floors.

After all the hard work that is required you will realise that ovens need cleaning every week Lol

Tarka trail

1. A battery drill

2. four 2 inch self taping screws.

3. Screw the door shut.

4. Forget about the cooker.

5. Eat and live on take away food.

You then save on gas or electric.

A Club or Your Bedroom!

Mr muscle oven cleaner and pink stuff.

Take out the shelves and put them in one of those oven bags they brilliant.

Warm your oven up and spray the mr muscle and leave for 20 mins, then use a cloth to wipe away. Then add pink stuff to a dish sponge and scrub it works a treat.

Is that what you call a self isolating oven?

It's always an option but it gets expensive every six months

Hi, used a spray on oven cleaner, said it worked best when hot. Put a couple of old tea towels down and sprayed on, burnt on grease mostly dripped off the door. Well ventilated, it stinks and catches the back of the throat.

Tomorrow’s job as it happens, nothing works as good as a professional clean but if it’s burning you’ve probably got a load of crap in it that needs scrapping up.

Bicarbonate of soda & good old elbow grease if it's bad you can use a scourer or wire wool stuff.

I have the Koh product and diamond sponges. Love it. Not sure how effective it would be in a bad oven though.

I stick the shelves in the dishwasher and have an oven liner from aldi that you cut to size... Then just take it out and wash it regular. Makes life so much easier.

Get a fab male to do it, then post some pics of the results on your profiles. Guaranteed future engagements with others, when safe to do so.

Add your names here fellas, to see how oven ready you are

Caustic based oven cleaner, just leave it overnight, you don't need it to be hot. Give it a good rinse out afterwards, once rinsed wipe down the insides with some lemon slices. It will help to neutralise any residual caustic and it smells okay. Then remember to line the oven with foil, and your life will be so much easier.
