" I never get called pet names.. but then again.. I don't know many people properly yet, or not many people know me yet.. That’s the point though, I love it from one person, it’s when a stranger calls me one of them, I don’t like it. " I love it when it is someone who knows me, or is getting to know me but I hate it at first, Although I am guilty of calling people sexy lady etc.. But then again you can't really ask someone there name in the first couple of messages can you..?

Such a charmer | |||

"Thinking about this a little more, I now remember when I was in my early 20s a lady in the office where I worked used to say “alright, lover” whenever she say me. She was in her 60s and for want of a better expression had had a bit of a hard paper round (hairy top lip and everything). It did kind of make me mentally vomit in my mouth every time she said it ..." . IV just nearly when I read that ??????

Being straight it really weirded me out as I thought she was hitting on me. I just ignored it, (but cringed inwardly every time she said it) after time & getting to know her, I found it was just her way of being pleasant & she meant nothing by it! Also lots of the older generation tend to use the word Love when addressing people. "That's o.k. love" "thank you love" "have a good day love" etc. As that was a common way of speaking to their acquaintances in their youth. Just a generational thing.

"We only use pet-names once we have established a rapport with someone and only then after checking first, including finding out of there are any they don't like. Otherwise we just use their profile name or ask what they like to be called." So sensible

Tbh, I would never dream of doing that. To me, it’s corny at best, crass at worst ...
