What are you proud of?

La la land

It's coming up shortly to a year of this pandemic. And it has been difficult for many of us. But I've also learnt a lot since I've had time to think with a slower pace of life.

I'm learning how to define my own shortcomings, my mistakes and internalised toxicity. I'm learning how to let go of my own bitterness which never or would serve me well. But most importantly I've learnt the worth of constant growth and knowing that I'm not perfect but I'm better today than I was yesterday.

So my long winded navel gazing OP really is; can you list 3 things that you have done in the laast year you are proud of?

I survived something traumatic.

I completed variety of courses.

I kept my kids happy and safe.

2021 sounds like a breeze.

Lost a 3 stone

Learned to listen to other people's opinions (I used to be so closed minded)

Came to reality about my sexuality

I used to be an Escort, the pandemic made me stop, and I used the time to learn the art of corsetry and as of 2 days ago got a facebook and etsy page up and running to sell them. Massive career change for the better.

I have put myself first more than before to improve my mental health

I have moved in with my bestfriend

1. I'm still alive woohoo get in neatly wasn't the case.

2. I've managed to keep my kids well and happy.

3. Stopped worrying quite so much that my body isn't what I think people expect it to look like.

Number 3 is a biggie and I still struggle with it slightly but getting there too.

I am confident, I just think others put you on a pedestal sometimes and that puts pressure on.

Number one.... I hear you loud and clear (hugs)

Waw see that is amazing, I know this pandemic has been hard. But it's allowed time to reassess our lives. I so want a corset that actually does what it should do.

What a great way of using this time.

I have faced my demons

I am learning to be more at ease with my thoughts

and I am more aware of who I have got in my life and why.

This is excellent, I think many of us have taken the time to contemplate and grow as people. Just it's difficult to see under the current climate. Sometimes it's good to be reminded of the positives even when times are tough

I have done so much growing and healing in the last year, I’ve made some big transformations, including leaving some bad shit behind.

I coped with lots of medical stuff last year, on top of homeschooling and covid, that was bloody tough but I made it.

I did some modelling and I was really proud of the results.

Lovely post Frida

What a lovely thread, thank you, OP!

I am pleased/ proud/ happy that I am able to continue working, looking after my family and surviving in relative comfort.

Everytime a sense of frustration threatens to rise on the horizon, I remind myself of all the things we can still do and have - it, the lockdown, does not feel so bad after that. xx

Near Wells

Being over 30% down in turnover during the past year has given me the time to really look at my business. It's now more financially secure than it was this time last year.

I've moved into a lovely tiny cottage, that was very recent.

Despite some bad times (like everyone else) I still remain quite happy and positive generally.

2020 ended up being quite a year, I studied hard for an exam at work, which I then passed and changed roles at work (Promotion exam coming up in March too).

Since Jan 2018 I decided I’d get rid of my dad bod to something I could be proud of and get fit. Not proud yet but 8” off the waist, 3 stone later and regularly running 10K, progress has been made.
