I'm looking for coherent sentences and an overall feeling when reading any message that this is a genuine person with good intentions.

Messages I don't open... (Maybe this will help):

"Hey"

"How's you?"

"I'd love to stick my cock in..."

"Would you like to on this?"

"I'd love to (inset any sexual comment made before ever speaking to said person)"

"Why don't you reply, are you stuck up?"

"Bitch"

"Wouldn't fuck you anyway, you're fat"

Hope that helps. Don't be that guy lol.

Seriously, what might work for one may not work for the other. Read their profile and then just be yourself.

Away with the faeries

I'd love to be able to go back to the very first message I've received from anyone I'm still friends/chatting to.

I'd venture to guess that the themes running throughout those lovely first messages included humour, combined with some intelligence and a show of some passing interest in my profile, something I'd said in forum or even a picture.

Do you all reply to the messages that have made an effort even if they are not your type?

We just want someone to string a sentence together, something a bit more than 'Hi' or How's U'. Also be nice if they have read the profile instead of asking questions that it would have plainly answered!

"Do you all reply to the messages that have made an effort even if they are not your type?"

Some don't but don't take it personally. They can't keep up with the messages and the 'but whyyyy not' replies when they say no thank you.

I'm doing a profile experiment. 2.5 hrs ago I updated my profile, one pic and shite text. I have 89 messages so far.

Oh now 91, up since I started typing this reply.

I'm not telling you my opening message, it's too good! Don't do the 'can I ask you a question?' thing, it's over used and a bit manipulative. Pick out something on their profile, if they mentioned Star wars, stick in an obscure reference that shows you really read their profile. If their profile is pretty much empty, it's really not worth the effort and just do a copy and paste.

Let's face it. There is no formula.. everything depends from the person who receive it. With some works a simple "hi, how are you" with others filthy message straight away and others the story of your life. So just put interesting picts of yourself and write whatever you feel..be yourself is always the solution and if they don't reply, their lost

Edinburgh (She/Her)

To be honest I think alot of the messages sent to individuals can be based on the profile the sender is sending to..

I'll explain through example.

Anyone should able to walk down a street wearing whatever they want. Without fear or intimidation or lude comments.

This can also be said about a person's profile. It could be full of sexual references, sexy images. Text describing everything under the sun.

Messages recieved without fear or intimidation or lude comments.

Unfortunately we are breeding Neanderthal behaviours and desensitization through social media and social conditioning.

Respect and being respectful to others has been given the heave in alot of cases!!!!!

So you have to educate them before they decide to send a message.

I hate the fact that as an individual I have to sensor myself because of the idiots of the world!

But that is the only way I know I can reduce and limit the amount of drivel in my inbox...

A considered yet not overly long introduction to who they are and what they're about. Good SPaG, a photo if no public ones on their profile and preferably minus the genital pics.

If your profile is interesting then a ‘hi’ or questioning opening message like ‘hi how are you this fine day ?’ is fine.

But if your profile is lacking of pictures and an interesting profile text, then your opening message had better be brilliant and enticing
