that somebody has selflessly done for you, perhaps to cheer you up, perhaps just because.

What is the kindest gesture or act that sticks in your mind?

My neighbour brought me some daffodils a couple of days ago - no reason, no occasion just because he is a very sweet guy.

We do not have a great deal in common, we disagree on many things including politics but he really is such a good soul that I can be friends with him because of his kindness alone.

Strangest thing happened on the metropolitan line couple yrs back. I lost a close relative who had a knack for humming hymns and stuff, I was on the train from Farringdon and this lady started humming hymns it was proper comforting. Just before I got off, I looked at her and she smiled at me. Weird as fuck!

I find kindness from a stranger has such an impact, I'm a firm believer in karma now.

Recently it would be several hours phone call when it was most needed. From most surprising source - as in I wouldn't expect that person to have it in them to hold a space the way they did.

Life is amusing.

When it comes to acts of kindness, 2020 was very blessed for me and it would have been a pretty long list. Last lockdown someone dropped me daffodils on my doorstep. An old friend small gestures matter..

A girl I didn't really know in 6th form gave me a bunch of flowers after I fled from an abusive home as a teenager and was sofa surfing. She'd heard I was having a tough time and gave them to me in the common room one day. It made me cry, it was so thoughtful.

One of the Mums of a child I look after brought in flowers and chocolate for me today. Just because she saw them on her way to work and thought I might like them, I was incredibly touched

I had a blowout on my bike about 12 miles from home, a woman cycled passed, then headed back to her farm, got her car and dropped me and my bike home, it was in the middle of winter, totally Baltic.

I had travel up north to go pick up something I bought on ebay. I got there really late and ended spending the night in a far away lodge from the town centre.

On my way back in the morning, to head back home to london I saw a nice lady make a u-turn to my surprise and offer me a lift to the station because in her words “I hoped someone would do that for me too.”

Just coming back to this as I had not seen all the lovely stories shared... I had one today, one of my kids posted something on social media about being so lucky to have a mum that was there for them when needed.

Totally out of the blue...made my day!

Yours reminded me of a random one from my son..

Whilst walking from school.. he turns around, measures me up and says..

- Mum you look 30, but actually you are 40..!

- Thanks.. Son.

I was laughing uncontrollably. He is too young to be able to judge grown ups age btw, but old enough to know how to get what he wants by being sweet. Not sure if that's kindness though but he didn't ask for anything straight after

One of my best mates makes little wooden hearts and cards and writes little messages on them and posts them through my door. She doesn't tell me so I find them unexpectedly
