It depends what they are thanking you for. If it's in response to "You look beautiful" then it doesn't mean it's the end of it. If it's in response to "I've decided to stop stalking you" then it's fair to say you're done.

Sometimes you are not interested and that thank you might prompt ping ping of messages. So no thank you probably means just that..

This all needs context OP. Without knowing what was said, it's impossible to answer your question.

It's polite and shows you/they are a respectful person but reading between lines it's pretty much.. Thanks for dropping by but it's time to move on

somewhere, someplace

I'll send it to be polite and potentially go back and reply more if I get the chance

I often just say thanks when I get a message paying me a compliment or saying something nice. It doesn't mean uts the end of conversation. I usually say happy fabbing when I've nothing more to say

It’s all about context it doesn’t mean it’s the end but sometimes there is nothing more to say

Sometimes I get a message that’s really nice and thoughtful but I’ve not decided if I want to chat more. It’s like a second chance to blow my socks off

I often say thank you, if they’ve sent a compliment but not wanting to take the chat further.

You do usually get a reply back in which I might just state that they’re not for me without going into reasons why, that does sometimes bring on the questions of what my reasons are

But always try to keep it polite
