They skipping half term. Make the parents do more homeschooling because we so good at it. Next school's close down so they don't have to pay for the upkeep of the builds

Single mama here. 2 kids. One 15 who is pretty independent and my 7 year old.

We do either maths or literacy, PE and one other lesson (either science or topic) per day. Some days we do our own thing completely. Pressure off. Its impossible to do the whole timetable plus meals, housework and my work as the only adult around.

I'm lucky that her school takes an understanding approach. No pressure to produce tons of work.

Well done everyone!! It's hard but please remember to just hang out and trust that life is also teaching great lessons too.

My heart goes out to ye tbh. It can't be easy. I'm so lucky I've escaped this torture...yes I'd view it as torture lol

It will be good practice for the older one to price and buy in but also to cook it as well.

to be honest don't think they will go back till after Easter. We are still keeping our school open over half term for keyworker n vulnerable children I've been cooking hot dinners but half term pack Lunches.

I can’t imagine how difficult it is for you WD but all we can do is our best isn’t it.

I only have one at home young enough for home schooling thank goodness,so l can’t complain.l know some mums and dads are juggling work to .

As long as you can finish the day still all friends and have a hug that’s a good day for me .

No they had removed it from the school lessons.

I was glad to see it coming back into use again.

like most teenagers, Remind her cooking allows her to nibble away at treats while shes programming.

I actually home educated my kids (now 28 & 19) and loved it ... had a job which meant I could do it too but find it diiferent to my experience of doing it for years, that people struggle with it as much as they do!

It's not made as any kind of judgement in the slightest just has fascinated me!

I suppose it might be different for parents who choose to homeschool their children. They choose how and when to teach the curriculum, they have the resources prepared and a plan they probably set up a long time before school started? So they do it because they choose to and not because school close suddenly? Parents forced to homeschool now are thrown in at the deep end and having to teach in a way they aren’t used to(and nor are the children..) xx

I had an online parents evening last week. It was useless. Bad enough waiting your turn in real life never mind waiting for a late teacher on Teams.

Boris has said 8th march earliest for schools to go back potentially

I just roll with how the kids mood is on the day, if they're in the mood for school work then we do it, if they're not we do other stuff, I'm not causing a stressful atmosphere at home when it's stressful enough right now

Definitely, well done to everyone managing this, let alone those doing it around work as well!!

I'm helping my mum out with my brother and sister, she works from home so I help around the house and with the schoolwork etc. Its shocking how much I've already forgotten. Think I'll need a refresher year back in school before going to uni hahaha.

I only have one, but she is getting increasingly resistant, I think being an only child is tougher somehow.
