As Derek Trotter famously said of Champagne-

“It’s the best drop of lager that money can buy “.

I like it. How many bottles each week do you drink?

Zero bottles a week. I so like it though and will enjoy a glass or two when possible. I also like cava and prosecco.

A guy we met from another site years ago invited us back to his for champagne, when we got there he produced a bottle of cava with a flourish. I don't care, I like cava just as much but don't treat me like I'm daft and can't read the label on the bottle

There is always at least a few in the wine rack but not had any since NY Eve.

Champagnes isn’t really a lone drinking drink, it’s made for sharing!

We treated ourselves to a really posh holiday for our 25th wedding anniversary. Champagne was very available all the time. They had a quiz one night (so not that posh then) which our team won. The prize was champagne, a lot of champagne, which it would have been rude not to drink. I think that might be the d*unkest we have ever been

I do not like it but could not afford to drink it if i did. Quite content with Straw Hat rose wine which costs me £4,25. It is lovely.

Only time I ever have a drink is new year or if I am out to dinner with a nice lady I may have one or two but apart from that I don’t drink at all

I gave bottles of the stuff to a man in Tesco when I divorced. Neither of us drank it, and it had just collected from gifts over decades.

Not keen on it myself. Got loads here from my 50th and probably even 40th! I’ll have a bit for a toast but not a fan.

Wellingborough

'We live very simply — but with all the essentials of life well understood and provided for—hot baths, cold Champagne, new peas and old brandy'.

Winston Churchill

I enjoy Champagne with friends but rarely drink on my own. I've currently 26 bottles sitting in a dark, cold cellar. My favourites are Veuve Clicquot and Pol Roger.

Churchill is estimated to have quaffed some 26,000 bottles of Pol Roger (along with a myriad of bottles of other alcoholic goodness) over the course of his lifetime.

We have several bottles which have been gifted to us but I would rather have a bottle of Asti. I’m cheap.
