Aka 'The big guy from France'. I've loved his work since I was a kid. My favourites are oxygen, chronologie and magnetic fields.

Nearly ran out my old Docklands Show from '89 I had on vhs. Teeming down with rain, but the show went on. Hank Marvin played 'London Kid' and some of the coolest strapon (ooh er) synths ever. One even had reverse coloured keys.

What are your favourite tracks, or Album?

Same here, been a fan since I was a teen. Oxygene is unreal. Did you catch either of the VR concerts he did?

No mate I didn't. If they're anything like the laser light shows, then I'm thinking they are something special.

Oh dear. Oh deary me. It seems Fab is not particular fond of a composer who brought the sound of electronic timbres to the main stream. I know he was not a pioneer per say, as works by Kraftwerk and Louis and Bebe Baron were working with such equipment beforehand. However, he was a visionary taking his inspiration from Pierre Shaffeur, and music concrete. He remains one of the fore fathers of edm for me. I love Vangelis too, his score for Blade Runner captured in sound, the distopian narrative in synchronicity . Albums not to shabby either.

It was so amazing, there might be clips on his website or video streaming site of your choice

Love it!. I literally jumped to grab my headphones and started with Equinox pt 1. Great memories from my early 20s and my first solo trips

Maidstone

I saw him in Wembley Stadium in ‘93, part of his Europe In Concert Tour, played the whole of Chronologie in order and lots more. Was totally mind blowing.

I've Oxygene & Equinox on Vinyl (the Original issues) and on CD too.

I also have some of Vangelis' original albums on vinyl too. From him, I got introduced later to Yanni.

Keep those first editions in prime health sir. You have music history in your collection.

Whilst I got rid of some of my music collection years ago, as I needed money when out of work, I kept the above, plus some original Yes, Tangerine Dream and Asia albums on vinyl.

As I stated in my opening post. Love chronologies, apart from the weird part 8. Don't know how jmj figured that was the finale closure the album called for, but yet, it was his baby.

Did you know BTW. This album was inspired by the newly released 'Roland JD800' synth. As was 'Revolutions' When the Roland D50 synth was designed.

Perhaps I bore you, but Google those instruments and tell me honestly, they're not wow.

I do, and pt 4 too. the mix of techno and classic music makes of it a brilliant production. Vibrant as usual

How Jarre brings together the timbre of electronic instrument with temporal classical harmony, is why I love his work. New sounds but with melodic and progressive musical intent.

Rik Wakeman. Now there's a man who knew his way around a keyboard solo. They even have an ongoing joke about that on the radio station 'planet rock'.
