OK so being a singlie had lots going for it; independence, autonomy, living by your own rules, yada yada yada.

BUT what a pain in the arsenal changing a king size duvet cover on your own!

They never mentioned that in the divorce settlement!

Do you have stairs?

I'm 5ft 8 and I used to do it on the bed too.

I've downsized to a double duvet now.

Turn the cover inside out put your arms in and make puppets from the bottom corners to grab the bottom corners of the duvet, hold and shake the cover over the duvet, raing your arms to shake ot all down and preto, one duvet, corners in the right place, ready to button up!

But my duvet slit is not full length! It snags on the sides!

Never let go of your puppets. I've sewn googly eyes on the outside tops of all my duvets now.

Every chore is better with friends.

This isn’t only a single person problem, in almost 30 years together my husband has never changed a duvet cover alone and has probably only ever helped me 3 times. It’s stressful enough just watching him put a pillow in the case.

This is how I do it and I'm nearly a fully certified "little person"

People are not talk enough to hold the duvet high enough to shake it down, so shake it down the stairs so the floor doesn't get in the way.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

I confess, I'm considering abandoning the duvet and going back to a load of blankets for this exact reason.

And all those other man jobs. Cleaning the gutters, putting the bins out, brushing up the yard, mending the gate, putting the shelf up......

Oh my fucking god OP....you are such a pretend wannabe woman if you can't change a duvet cover in under 90 seconds no matter what kind of tiny opening it has.

Remove that make up right now, you should be ashamed of yourself.

(Flounce off the thread after doing 2 king-size quilts today in less than 60seconds for both)
