More people will play (us included) and will put more money into the pot.

There will be money from unclaimed tickets that have gathered interest in their banks.

Who gives a toss as long as I/we win!

It's a unique code not the actual numbers!

"It's a unique code not the actual numbers!"

But with the combination of letters and numbers leading to 10 figure odds... How can they ensure / rig a hundred winners...??

southend

Every person that enters gets a unique code, those codes go into a draw, 100 winners are picked at random.

I'm pretty sure they can't. Any unclaimed money goes towards the good causes supported by Camelot, iirc. It's just a marketing ploy, innit.

By the way, did anyone win the jackpot tonight or did it roll over again?

It'll take a hell of a rigging for me to be a winner.

The 100 winners are UK only as well. If I was French, Spanish etc I would be fuming.

Anything that is computer generated can be randomised to 'be told' what numbers to pick.

How does the announcer know so soon after a ball comes up how often it has come up and when it last came up? can you remember the sequence of last saturdays numbers and when they were last up?

With all the obscene profits Camelot has made in the 10 years or so since the Lottery began. They've got billions of pounds sitting around and can easily afford to give away £100m.

Why? The Millionaires part of the Eurolotto is only for UK tickets and comes out of Camelots 'cut' on Euro ticket sales.

Perils of target fixation in the workplace... You end up troubleshooting more than problem solving...

Right... Off to get me tickets...

LOL you didn't happen to buy it on 8th June 2012 by any chance, I like this type of humour which needs a little bit of thinking to understand the punchline...
