"Any sauce really made duck with cherry sauce last night 2 spoons cornflour mixed in stopped it running all over plate " Yes cornflour works. If you put it in a small bowl add a little water and rub it between your fingers rather than stir it works better. It becomes oobleck if you stir too much.

"I don't like using cornflour It gives a gloopy consistency " Just mix it with a water before adding it to the sauce and add a little at a time. I’ve never had it gloopy but we like a thick sauce or gravy. Lou x

"Just putting it out there ... As there’s nothing else to do while locked down I’ve took to cooking Sooo Have discovered that the secret to a good sauce is the pack of corn flour in the back of the cub board that I’ve had for years and never used Anyone else with me ??" Use it all the time. I cook a lot of Chinese food and cornflour is a common ingredient in them. It's so simple to use, saves time making a roux and avoids the need to use fat.
