I’m not really a film buff but I do agree with Dead Man’s Shoes. An excellent film. Tyrannosaur is great too if you like Considine’s work. He’s a fantastic director, every bit as good as Meadows.

However, I rewatched Cammell & Roeg’s bonkers ‘Performance’ again the other day after finding it all dusty and neglected during the clean up. It stands up really well considering it’s 51 this year.

Cabaret

It captures a hedonist time, a dangerous time, touches on prostitution, homosexuality and anti-semitism

The songs are great, the performances second to none

Liza Minnelli is good but Joel Grey as Emcee is dark, demonic and fantastically interesting and (for me) completely steals the show

Yeah, it's absolutely excellent.

It sits so well with the paranoia building up between the clearly out of their depth national guard.

Bladerunner, it's a very loose adaption of the book and all the better for it. It's defined how we think of dystopian futures. I live everything about it.

The sequel looks pretty but has no depth.

The last film that I enjoyed was Colour Out of Space, on Amazon. Well directed weirdness and a great performance from Nic Cage.
