I've had one in the house tonight

Smut & stereotypes aside, the emergency services here are simply wonderful, aren't they?

I rang to report a fire in the chimney of an adjoining property that was smoking heavily and spitting embers onto the roof

They were here in minutes and stayed for over half an hour

They checked my house, the house next door, installed smoke alarms next door and put the neighbours fire out (he has an open fire)

They gave me air quality reports on every room in my house, advised not to sleep in the loft room tonight, said they will raise a 'crisis' alert for my neighbour and didn't leave before making sure I was happy and aware of what had gone on

I was also pleased to see that 2 of the crew were female, which shows that things are changing to a degree in that respect

Anyway, a big thank you goes out from me tonight to all our emergency services

You are valued and appreciated x

Glad you’ve been declared safe bussy.

Sounds like more excitement than I’ve had in 12 months!

Good on the fire service.

They're excellent aren't they! They've been to my mum and dad's and installed smoke alarms and a carbon monoxide detector.

The burning question here is did they show you their hoses.

Unfortunately not

I think the sight of me in a thermal vest and flip flops might have killed the mood a little

Now I've calmed down

If you'd av seen me in banshee mode at 7pm, you might have thought differently

Still, it's less than 24 hours to the next Pooch Perfect

Big thumbs up to all the Emergency Services

The last time I called out the Fire Brigade was to rescue ma dog who got stuck behind the bath on Bonfire Night

If there was 6 of them, were they called Pew, Pew, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grub?
