Has anyone sent a message and the person has took it the wrong way and hurled abuse back at you

It’s happened to me many times

Just wondering is it the frame of mind they are in when they read things

Just curious if it’s a common thing

I messaged someone once and mentioned they didn’t look their age but they took it that I was saying that they were old . They stopped messaging me and didn’t open any more of my messages

I don’t mention age now....

No one has ever hurled abuse though and if it’s happened a few times then that might be something you are doing/saying.

It’s like texts and emails mate, you don’t always read them back with the same sentiment in which they were written.

Only once. I sent a message complimenting a guy on his photos and he accused me (in a shirty way) of sending him a sympathy message

I’ve never messaged a guy first since.

Don't start with any humour until you get to know someone's nature. Trying to be funny from the start with a message is easy to read back and get the wrong idea like some text messages. Saying that it is sometimes hard to judge where to start for the best with a first message, and most women can't distiguish between cocky and humorous just in case, that was my attempt at humour.

I do keep this in mind, especially what we are going through at the moment. Any abuse I get, I don't respond/engage with it. Could be they are having a bad day or are just a general knob but I'd rather just move on

Had a few abusive messages from a couple through a thread on here a few years ago but that's about it.

The more recent ones though have been arrogant rather than abusive with a level of entitlement and expectation because apparently when a couple message a man he is supposed to dance to their tune. That's what I get for not reading the small print but I blame my age and failing eyesight.

From a guys perspective I couldn't agree with you more. You have hit the nail on the head with the "dancing to their tune". I definitely feel that way. Thankfully I have not gotten abuse. The worst I got was "get a life"... And all I said was hello

I'm pleased to say we have never received an abusive message yet. I think having a couples profile means we get less abuse. On the whole people are very respectful.

But then again I haven't sent a first contact message to anyone in well over a year so I don't have to concern myself with replies.

I don't know if he sexy or not but he is very very funny and i would love to spend a day in the pub with him... Hilarity would be guaranteed
