"Depends on the kind of career you are going into, for example if your going into teaching having a history of being in porn may lead to you being turned away for example" I work in education. If any of my staff were found to be publishing porn etc, then I have no issues with that. So long as it's legal and they aren't connecting it to their "day" job, then I have no issue. What they do in their private lives is up to them and so long as it's not encroaching on their professional lives, then who am I to judge? I've never understood the "holier than thou" attitude to teachers. Maybe a throwback from when it was a profession only for unmarried women and stern men with moustaches?!

"It’s the professional bodies - like the British Medical Association or the Nursing and Midwifery Council which can really cause a person of not only losing ones job but being barred from the profession. Recently female doctors have been fighting back against how prescriptive (and sexist) these professional can be by - dare I say it - posting photos of them on holiday in bikinis on social media. " Goodness me! Bikini pics?! How absolutely dreadful If I go to hospital, I care only if the nurse/doc is qualified to treat me. I have never once thought "hmm, I wonder if I can find them on FB" etc. They're entitled to a private life, like anyone.

Do you remember it was probably about 10 years ago now that there was a teacher who was sacked because he was part of a male stripper group.

I don't remember that exact example (I'll go and have a Google) but it doesn't surprise me. So long as he wasn't stripping for pupils, then I can't see how it affects him doing the job of a teacher Mon to Fri (assuming he wasn't bunking off to strip at lunchtimes!)

As far as I remember it was just in his down time and I think he did do a bit of porn as well. It was all over the papers at the time then a year later he was on Big Brother.
