I'm pretty good at letting go. I rarely forget though and I'll never be friends with certain people again.

Damn I thought this was going to be a Frozen thread!

I don't hold grudges. Or let much hit me that closely that a grudge would be applicable. Last year proved this fallible though. Hopefully I'll let it go soon enough.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

A friend of mine hates the song and yet every time we chat he ends up giving himself (and me) the ear worm.

As for grudges, I mostly don't hold them, but there are a couple of very special cases that are exceptions. Mostly if there is a "reason" to hold a grudge I just cease to have them exist in my life.

Yes.

My sister has led my niece and nephew to believe that their grandad (our dad) is dead because she hasn't got the balls to tell them she is a fucking selfish cunt who's cut him out of their lives based on the fact she didn't want him in hers.

If she owned it and her actions and was truly remorseful then I could let it go, like I can most things but only if I genuinely believe the wrongdoer understands why their actions were so bad, the consequences of those actions and as I say, is truly remorseful.

Don't own yer shit? Don't come knocking.

I can let it go, as I don’t believe in holding onto things, as it can just eat you up, but I have also let toxic people go, as I don’t think that’s healthy either.

I don’t hold grudges - because life’s too short to be pissed off.

But you’ll most certainly become ‘dead’ to me. Reality of it is, I don’t need anyone in life. So unless you offer some value to mine then I won’t have you around.

Family or friends. Doesn’t matter - soon as the respect is gone it’s over.

Grudges cause an awful lot of heartache not just for those who hold the grudge but for those who end up on the receiving end of one and often for no good reason.

This last year taught me that there are some horrible people out there who really should have known and behaved better.

Reply privatelyReply in forumReply +quote

No, because what's the point? If someone hurt me enough to warrant a grudge I'd just cut them off instead. It can take a really long time to process hurt if someone has done you wrong, but I don't believe that's the same as holding a grudge. That's coming to terms with something and learning to accept it before moving on.

There and to the left a bit

Depends what/who it is - there are some people who have visited my life down the years that I'll never forgive, and will hold a grudge against to the day I die, even if I have cut them out of my life completely.

Others I'll just move on from and have as little to do with as I possibly can - no grudges, just no desire to interact with them either

I think some stuff is impossible to forget about and I'll never be able to let those kind of grudges go. I try not to dwell on it too much but I will never forgive those who have seriously wronged me. But with others over smaller things I just forget about it, cut contact and don't interact.

Anyone who would be likely to bring a grudge into my life isn’t worthy of my time. I would therefore cease all contact and move on.

"Do you hold grudges

Depends on the seriousness of what the person involved has done for me.

In general terms, yes I do.

But not always, there are those who have pushed me too far and I won't give them the benefit of my time again.

If someone does me badly wrong I just cut them out of my life and I rarely give them another thought. Unfortunately I’ve learned from experience that second and third chances rarely work.

In theory I would get back at them if the chance arose but in reality I probably couldn’t be bothered.

I don’t hold grudges anymore, complete waste of time and energy, as others have said if the person is that bad I will just cut them from my life.

Don’t forget if they are a compete cunt they wont really care if they have hurt you in the first place that dirt if person doesn’t belong in my life

On a mooch

Holding a grudge only does you damage not the individual you have it with.

So let it go, that’s not saying forget or forgive but file it away, cut them out of your circle if needed and get on with your life.
